What Is Responsible Gambling?

Responsible gambling means approaching gaming as a form of paid entertainment — not as a way to make money, solve financial problems, or escape from personal difficulties. Like going to the cinema or dining out, gambling involves spending money for the experience it provides. When approached with that mindset, it remains an enjoyable leisure activity.

The challenge arises when gambling shifts from entertainment to compulsion. For a minority of players, what starts as casual fun can develop into a pattern that becomes difficult to control. Recognising that risk — and having tools in place to address it — is what responsible gambling is fundamentally about.

At Jamintoto, responsible gambling is not just a compliance requirement. It is a core operating principle. We have built practical, accessible tools into the platform that give players genuine control over how they gamble, and we actively encourage their use.

Our Commitment: We would rather have a player take a break and come back refreshed than continue playing beyond their comfort zone. A sustainable, enjoyable experience is always more important to us than short-term revenue.
The Golden Rules of Responsible Play
1
Set a Budget Before You Start
Decide in advance how much you can comfortably afford to spend — treating it the same as any other entertainment expense. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose. Never use rent, bill payments, or savings.
2
Set a Time Limit
Decide how long each session will last and stick to it. Use the session timer tools in your account settings to receive reminders. Taking regular breaks keeps your decision-making clear and the experience enjoyable.
3
Never Chase Losses
If you lose your session budget, accept it as the cost of entertainment for that day and stop. Chasing losses by increasing bets or continuing beyond your limit almost always results in larger losses and poorer decisions.
4
Keep Gambling in Its Proper Place
Gambling should be one of many leisure activities — not the primary one. If you find yourself thinking about gambling when you should be focused elsewhere, that is a signal to reassess.

Responsible Gambling Tools at Jamintoto

All of the tools below are available directly from your account settings. They are free to use, take effect quickly, and are designed to give you real, practical control over your gambling activity.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum deposit amount on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once your limit is reached, the platform will not allow further deposits until the period resets.

Reducing your limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit requires a 24-hour cooling-off period before it applies — this delay is intentional and there to protect you.

Self-Exclusion

Take a break from Jamintoto entirely. Self-exclusion options range from a short cooling-off period (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days) up to a permanent exclusion with no option to return.

During exclusion, your account is locked, all marketing communications are suspended, and you will not be able to log in or make deposits. To request self-exclusion, contact our support team at any time.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration. When your time limit is reached, you will receive a clear on-screen notification prompting you to take a break. You can choose to continue, but the prompt ensures you are making a conscious decision rather than losing track of time.

Available in 30-minute, 1-hour, 2-hour, and custom increments.

Reality Checks

Enable periodic on-screen reminders that display how long you have been playing and your net session result. These prompts appear at your chosen interval (every 15, 30, or 60 minutes) to keep you grounded in the reality of your session.

Each reality check gives you the option to continue or exit your session with one tap.

Loss Limits

Set a maximum loss threshold for a given period. If your net losses within that period reach the limit you have set, you will be unable to continue placing wagers until the period resets.

Loss limits are a particularly effective tool for players who find that chasing losses is a pattern they want to break. Available in daily, weekly, and monthly configurations.

Cooling-Off Periods

Request a cooling-off period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. During this time, your account remains open and withdrawals can still be processed, but you cannot make deposits or place new wagers.

Cooling-off is ideal when you want a short break without committing to full self-exclusion.

How to Access These Tools: All responsible gambling tools are available in your account under Settings → Responsible Gambling. Alternatively, contact our 24/7 support team via live chat or email at [email protected] and an agent will activate any tool on your behalf immediately.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling rarely arrives all at once. It typically develops gradually, and early warning signs are easy to rationalise or dismiss. The patterns below are worth taking seriously if they feel familiar. Recognising them early makes it considerably easier to get back in control.

If several of the warning signs described here apply to your experience, we strongly encourage you to use our self-exclusion or cooling-off tools, and to reach out to one of the support resources listed further down this page. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Remember: These warning signs do not mean you are a bad person. They mean that gambling has started to work against you rather than for you — and that is something that can be addressed with the right support.

You repeatedly set a budget before a session but consistently exceed it. You tell yourself "just one more deposit" and it becomes several. The amount you consider a "normal" session spend has gradually crept upward over time without a conscious decision to increase it. If your gambling spend is regularly beyond what you planned, that gap between intention and behaviour is a meaningful warning sign.

After a losing session, you find yourself returning quickly to try to win back what you lost. This "chasing" behaviour is one of the clearest warning signs of problem gambling. It is driven by the false belief that a win must be "due" — but in reality, each game session is independent of the last. Chasing losses nearly always results in larger total losses and greater emotional distress.

Using rent money, bill payments, groceries budget, or other essential funds to gamble is a serious warning sign. It indicates that gambling is no longer optional entertainment but has taken priority over basic financial responsibilities. If this has happened even once, it is a strong signal that your relationship with gambling needs attention immediately.

When your mood — irritability, anxiety, excitement, or depression — is heavily influenced by whether you are winning or losing, gambling has moved beyond entertainment into something emotionally dependent. Healthy gambling leaves room for other sources of satisfaction. If a losing session significantly damages your wellbeing or personal relationships, that dependency deserves attention.

If you find yourself being secretive about how much you gamble or how much you have spent — deleting transaction history, lying about winnings or losses, or actively concealing gambling activity from people close to you — this secretiveness itself is a significant warning sign. It usually indicates that you know, on some level, that your gambling has moved beyond what those close to you would consider acceptable.

Missing work, neglecting family responsibilities, cancelling social plans to gamble, or spending significant time thinking about gambling when you are supposed to be focused on other things are all signs that gambling has grown to take up space it should not occupy. When gambling starts to crowd out genuine life priorities, it has become a problem that needs to be addressed.

Immediate Activation of Self-Exclusion Requests
Any self-exclusion request made through our support team is acted upon within minutes, not hours. Once applied, exclusions cannot be reversed during the specified period regardless of the reason given.

Proactive Intervention for At-Risk Behaviour
Our platform monitors for patterns associated with problem gambling — such as rapid loss chasing, sudden large deposit increases, or extended sessions following significant losses. Where such patterns are identified, our responsible gambling team may proactively contact the player to check in and offer support resources.
Staff Training on Responsible Gambling
All Jamintoto customer support staff receive training on responsible gambling practices, including how to identify at-risk behaviour patterns and how to communicate with players who may be experiencing gambling-related difficulties sensitively and effectively.
Transparent Odds and Game Information
We do not obscure the house edge, RTP (return to player) figures, or the statistical nature of gambling outcomes. All games on the platform are sourced from licensed international providers, and the theoretical return to player for each game is available to players on request.
